Activities

Nick and I have been on Koh Lanta a long time and we have experienced most of the activities here, so all the ones we recommend are from our own personal experience or from feedback from our guests.

Probably the most popular tour to do on Koh Lanta is the 4 Island tour, this can be done in either a traditional Thai Longtail or a speedboat. This tour visits islands to the south of KohLanta ,known as the Trang Islands and unsurprisingly you will go to 4 islands! Here you will have the chance to snorkel and enjoy a Thai Lunch on the beach. The main reason, however, that most people do this tour is Emerald Cave, which is on Koh Muk. Here you swim through a cave (about 60metres) and at the other end is a beautiful hidden beach surrounded by cliffs. Some people say this location was the original inspiration for the film the beach.

Cookery Classes are hugely popular on the island and a lot of fun. You are even able to enjoy the results of your, not so, hard work! We recommend Time for Lime Cookery School as it is owned by the same person who created and owns Lanta Animal Welfare and all the profits go to this worthy cause. They are located on Klong Dao Beach and their bar makes superb cocktails so it is a great place to enjoy the sunset and therefore an ideal location if your partner is not taking part. We strongly recommend booking in advance, as courses are quickly booked up.

This beach is popular with couples and families as there are many areas that are lively but the beach is so big it is easy to find yourself a quiet spot.

Kayaking in the mangroves (between the 2 Koh Lanta islands) is also hugely popular and we normally recommend a half day tour. Make sure you choose a non-rainy day, as the monkeys will not come out to play otherwise!

There are many, many bars on Koh Lanta and if you would like a recommendation for a night out, talk to us, as many bars have a special night. Korner Bar, at the end of our road to the beach, is a lovely chilled out bar and ideal for sunset and, on a Saturday night, is the beach bar of choice for the island. The Irish Embassy, which is walking distance from the resort, offers ‘Quiz Night’ on a Monday, ‘Killer Pool’ throughout the week, as well as showing all the sports from around the world.

If you are looking for something a little more relaxed, yoga classes are held all over the island. We personally recommend Oasis Yoga, located on Klong Dao Beach (10 minutes away by tuktuk), which is ran by 2 lovely ladies, Kate and Farra.

Koh Lanta has a wide range of restaurants on the island, and we generally recommend eating on the main road, not the beach, to get the best quality at the best price. The island has obviously Thai and Western restaurants, specialising in Italian, vegan, pizza, Indian, Greek, English, French and many others. We are especially lucky to be so close to Red Snapper Restaurant, our most favourite Western restaurant. This restaurant is just next door and the food is delivered to a high standard in beautiful tropical gardens, ideal for a romantic date or if you are celebrating something special.

There is much more to do, whilst you are here on the island, Koh Rok (excellent for snorkeling), Paddle boarding, Muay Thai Training, Elephant Trekking and much more, so speak to us, if you cannot find what you are looking for.
