DIVING & SNORKELLING

SCUBA Diving & Snorkelling

Koh Lanta is a very popular location for diving and offers some of the best in Thailand as it has tranquil, clear, warm waters and there is plenty to see underwater. Koh Lanta is the idea place to learn to dive but offers a wide range of diving for those more experienced.

You can learn to dive from as young as 10 years old and courses can run from 1 day (a Discover Scuba Dive) to 3-4 days for a full Open Water Diver qualification. All courses are PADI courses and are taught by experienced instructors and can be offered in a variety of languages. There are many dive centres on the island offering either Big Boat or Speedboat diving, depending on your preference, but talk to us and we should be able to point you in the right direction.

Near to Koh Lanta are 3 main diveareas offering quite different diving experiences

Koh Haa

Koh Haa, meaning five islands, is a group of 6 islands! It is ideal for your first ever dive, but also an excellent snorkeling site and has amazing Caves and deeper sites for exploration by the more experienced. The very pretty lagoon is a safe environment for snorkelers and beginners.

Koh Bida & Phi Phi

An ideal site for both new and experienced divers, these dive sites, especially The Bida islands offers a plethora of marine life, including sharks, turtles, big schools of Travellyand Baracuda. Over a year ago a new dive wreck was made just off the coast of Koh Phi Phi which is now a very popular wreck with divers.

Hin Daeng & HinMuang

Only available to the more experienced diver is HinDaeng (Red Rock) and HinMuang (Purple Rock) which is a much longer trip but on the right day, they are quite incredible. A much deeper dive site, dropping down to about 60 metres, the structure of these rocks attracts, at the right time of year, Manta Rays and Whalesharks. But even if they are not there, these rocks are a must for the plethora of marine life found on them (they are named after the coral colour on them).
